Everett Griner talks about telematics saving producers time and money in today’s Agri View.
Telematics
For the first time, I just read an article about Telematics. The word in itself tells you what it concerns. It is transferring electronic information from one origin to a storage source. And farmers are using it? They are saving data from equipment in the field to transfer to the internet. Why? To save time. My question is, why is it necessary if you only make one crop a year? But, farms which are using this technology feel it is also saving money. Currently only the biggest farms are using Telematics. Requires a pretty good financial investment so, the smaller operators are holding off until the cost begins to subside. But like computers and cell phones, if it works, all farmers will eventually use it.
That’s Agri View for today, I’m Everett Griner.
