Everett Griner talks about the zodiac signs influence farming in today’s Agri View.
You know agriculture is an industry in constant change. But, there is one change that hardly anyone has noticed. Farmers have quit planting by the signs. Planting by the signs meant by the Zodiac signs in the Old Farmer’s Almanac. It listed the various seven best days to plant a crop. Now, you might call that superstition, but, it worked.
I tried it one year and I had the most productive spring garden I had ever planted. A farmer in my family had crops that neighbors envied. He always planted by the signs. These various phases of the moon were as vital to him as the seed and the fertilizer he used.
Now, you might think this is folk-lore. But, buy yourself a copy of the Old Farmer’s Almanac and give it a try this year. See how it works for you.
That’s Agri View for today. I’m Everett Griner…
