Everett Griner talks about land prices and your possibility of investing in today’s Agri View.
Land Prices
It hasn’t been to many years back when farmland values exploded. A few acres anywhere would bring unheard of prices. Quite the opposite today.
But what is so different? It has always been that way. I mean, when the farm economy is robust land prices skyrocket. Then when things flatten out prices begin to decline.
We are in one of those flatten situations right now.
Still some land has retained its high status quite well. Where, and how much, has a lot to do with prices today.
Good grazing and pasture land is holding up well in some places. Small pasture land, say 100 acres or less, is bringing top prices.
Realtors who deal in farmland advise caution. Bankers who supply the need and money are not the least aggressive right now.
Invest in only what you need is the current thinking.
That’s Agri View for today. I’m Everett Griner.
