Everett Griner talks about different versions of farming in today’s Agri View.
Farming Versions
Maybe you have noticed a couple of modifications in spelling. Farmer. Add an “h” in the middle and you have farmher. That is being used to identify farms operated by women. The other is farmet. Here is what that is about. People that want to grow their own vegetables but don’t want to invest in land so they did up their shrubbery, plow up their lawn and plant vegetables. There you have a farmet. My information is that it started in Central Florida, but it is spreading. How far? How fast? I have no idea but it is happening. I can’t imagine digging up camellias, azaleas, roses and centipede grass just so you can grow your own carrots and asparagus. But it is happening. Farmher and farmet. Now you know when you hear it.
That’s Agri View for today. I’m Everett Griner
