California has allocated money to help growers improve practices in their orchards. Almond Board of California’s Spencer Cooper said the State Water Efficiency and Enhancement Program (SWEEP) has been helping growers improve their systems for several years. Other funding available out of the same money pool is the Healthy Soils grants to help with projects like cover crops and compost. Applications are due for both programs by March 8.
