Everett Griner talks about the problems a border wall will bring in today’s Agri View.
It remains to be seen if our new President will build that wall that was so highly touted during the campaign. It isn’t mentioned much anymore. But the prospect of such a wall already frightens agriculture trade officials on both sides. They already foresee it as a major trade problem in both countries. Without going into the details there will be all kinds of regulations to be dealt with. What kind and how many inspection regulations will have to be written? It is likely both countries will be forced to change tariff regulations. And you know that both sides will have some kind of quota regulations. And, if all these issues are worked out compatibly, think about the paperwork. It is easy to see why farmers are concerned. They are not the only ones. But, it is already a headache for them.
That’s Agri View for today. I’m Everett Griner
