Sorghum acreage might become more valuable for California producers as research is looking into the bioenergy aspects of the crop.

Sorghum Acreage Could Grow

Kearney Agriculture Research and Extension Center Director Jeff Dahlberg says sorghum production makes sense for California. The grass is fairly drought tolerant and Dahlberg says with recent interest looking into the bioenergy benefits of the plant, California producers might look into sorghum as part of their rotation.
