A lot of focus is being put on California by the propane industry as the market for propane irrigation engines continues to grow from new developments in equipment.
Cinch Munson with the Propane Education and Research Council says there is still an incentive going this year for growers thinking about making the switch to propane irrigation engines. Munson says however that next year will change a little and now might be the time to get the maximum benefit from a conversion.
More on the Propane Farm Incentive Program
Farmers interested in propane-powered equipment can take advantage of incentives to make the switch even easier. Incentives are available from both the Propane Education & Research Council and many other organizations.
Sponsored by the Propane Education & Research Council (PERC), the Propane Farm Incentive Program is a research program that provides a financial incentive up to $5,000 toward the purchase of new propane-powered farm equipment like irrigation engines and grain dryers. In exchange, participants agree to share real-world performance data with PERC. Find the application and more information here.
