Huanlongbing Disease is a serious threat to California citrus trees. Also called Citrus Greening, the disease has caused devastating damage for growers in Florida. California growers have the chance to benefit from research in Florida, like new rootstock trials.
University of Florida scientist Fred Gmitter says the trials show some trees stay productive even though they are surrounded by HLB-infected trees. But despite the encouraging news, Gmitter says only time can tell if the results in that trial and others will last.
