San Luis Obispo might be the next area to go to a county-wide quarantine for the Asian citrus psyllid (ACP).
County-Wide Psyllid Quarantines
The Citrus Pest and Disease Prevention Program updated growers in San Luis Obispo County on the fight against ACP and huanglongbing. The county currently has no commercial operations under the spot-quarantine boundaries; however Agriculture Commissioner Martin Settevendemie says San Luis Obispo could be looking at a county-wide quarantine if another ACP find pops up in the southern area. Settevendemie says that may alleviate some issues if the commercial producers would be included in a new spot-quarantine area.
