Karen Halliburton Barber is an assistant vice president and senior agriculture analyst with RaboBank’s Food and Agribusiness Research and Advisory Group. There’s a shift in the U.S. produce industry, because people are wanting a stronger connection to the farmers who grow their food.
Since California provides fresh produce all over the nation, she says the challenge for California growers is to think locally, while working nationally.
