Even with an average crop this season, pistachio growers in the central valley are seeing some effects of less chilling hours.

At the South Valley Nut Conference tomorrow at the Tulare County Fairgrounds, growers will hear from experts about the effects reduced winter cold streaks are having on pistachio nuts. Cooperative Extension Orchard Advisor Katherine Pope says it didn’t make for a bad year but it is causing some problems.
