Everyone has stress, from one thing or another. Cathy Isom fills you in about the herbs that you can grow from home to help you combat stress. That’s coming up on This Land of Ours.
Having busy lives and keeping up with every day routines can get a little hectic. And stress can be bad for the heart if we’re not careful. Here are some anti-anxiety herbs to grow from home that can help.
Lavender – which also helps with anxiety. Diffuse it in oil inside your home – or incorporate it in baked foods.
Lemon Balm — the sweet aroma alone will naturally reduce anxiety.
Chamomile — most commonly used in tea, but the flowers are delicious in foods.
Valerian root — to promote restfulness and relaxation.
Passion Flower — used to treat nervous orders and anxiety
Turmeric – not only helpful for anti-inflammatory needs but can help treat anxiety disorders.
Basil – what’s neat about this one – it can help trigger neurotransmitters in the brain that are responsible for making us happy.
All of these herbs can be easily grown in your home, and hopefully help make life a little easier.
