At this year’s World Ag Expo, Hansen Industries drew attention with its latest line of energy-efficient ventilation solutions. Shane Hansen, president of the company, highlighted the innovations aimed at reducing power consumption while increasing airflow efficiency, particularly for dairy operations.
“We are pushing our new line of fans, ranging from 38-inch to 114-inch models, including panel, intake, exhaust, and louvered fans,” Hansen said. While the primary market is dairy farms, the technology can also be applied to industrial settings.
Hansen emphasized the efficiency of the company’s motor technology, which he claims consumes 40% less power while generating 60% more cubic feet per minute (CFM) of airflow compared to competitors.
“Our motors are externally driven with magnets, allowing for rapid heat dissipation,” Hansen explained. “Heat costs money, and by eliminating excess heat, we improve energy efficiency.”
Another key feature is the ability to adjust fan speeds between 10% and 100% without generating heat, allowing operators to optimize airflow based on seasonal needs. In colder months, slower speeds can help keep bedding dry and reduce moisture-related issues.
“In California dairies, airflow is critical. We aim to push air through barns efficiently, reducing humidity while providing cows with a windchill effect to enhance comfort,” Hansen said.
Beyond ventilation, Hansen Industries also focuses on potable water solutions, stainless steel storage tanks, and manure management equipment. The company provides systems for dewatering manure and stacking bedding, offering a range of solutions to improve efficiency and sustainability in livestock operations.
“From refrigeration to the light bulb, we can help,” Hansen said, reinforcing the company’s broad range of agricultural solutions.
The World Ag Expo, one of the largest agricultural trade shows, continues to be a platform for showcasing innovations that help producers improve efficiency and sustainability in their operations.
