Growing Field Day Draws Variety of Breeders
University of California Cooperative Extension held its 2015 Potato Variety Field Day in Bakersfield. Potato breeders from around the continent come to the Central Valley every year because of the early growing season and more extreme environment. Cooperative Extension Farm Advisor Joe Nunez heads the trial every year and says he is somewhat surprised at the growing interest from breeders.
