Just imagine, you are really busy. You go to the cafeteria hoping to be able to grab as quick, fresh, healthy meal. Well, it is possible. Cathy Isom gives you great information about a fresher alternative for vending machines in break rooms and cafeterias. That story ahead on This Land of Ours.
Imagine a salad bar in your company break room or cafeteria operated solely by a robot? It’s coming. Thanks to California-based Chowbotics, which has developed Sally the Robot – a custom vending machine serving customizable, made to order salads. And not just tired old lettuce and one tomato or a few carrot peelings. This robotic vending machine will offer plenty of fresh romaine, kale, arugula, snow peas, fresh edamame, cherry tomatoes and more.
Using the touch screen, Sally also has the capability to let you pick from 22 fresh ingredients at a time, plus salad dressing. Or, select from a number of preprogrammed salads. Sally also will tell you how many calories and carbs you’ve selected before filling a bowl with lettuce, vegetables and toppings in less than a minute and a half.
Future robots are planned to offer breakfast as well as Mexican and other ethnic foods.
