Dan Van Groningen, of Van Groningen & Sons, is a farmer in the Manteca area. He regularly participates in the California Food Banks Farm to Family program. In this interview with AgNet West, he tells us why the program is important to him and how other farmers can also get involved.
The Farm to Family Program from the California Association of Food Banks (CAFB) helps the state’s farmers donate surplus produce to families in need.
It is a statewide program operated by the California Association of Food Banks. CAFB recruits farmers and arranges to ship their surplus produce directly from the fields to 42 member food banks across the state.
