Trap in citrus tree for ACP
Trapping for Asian citrus psyllids is not an exact science. AgNet West’s Taylor Hillman tells us how a tree went undetected for some time in Tulare County.

Effectiveness of ACP Traps

Quarantine boundaries for psyllids in Tulare County hold steady as no new finds are popping up. That doesn’t ease everyone’s mind though as one past infested tree harbored the bug for some time before traps on either side tested positive. Tulare County Ag Commissioner Marilyn Kinoshita says these are the only traps for ACP currently available with research being done on more effective ones. Kinoshita says they will continue to blanket the county to aid in the effectiveness of the trap. Tulare County had an ACP meeting this week to discuss current prevention and quarantine updates.
