Without the passage of the bill, dairy prices at the grocery store could skyrocket. Consumers could be forced to pay as much as six dollars a gallon for milk. Cheese prices could go up so much that imported cheese could become the more affordable option. And, higher prices mean smaller sales, which could add to the increasing plight of the California dairy farmers, who are already struggling with high feed costs and lower pay for their Class 4b milk.
