Although the farm bill was enacted in February – provisions that directly affect the cotton industry are still being determined. National Cotton Council chief economist Gary Adams says the first hurdle is the Ag Appropriations bill.
Adams says farmers thinking about retirement might want to consider the Transition Incentives program. Information on that is available at your local FSA office.
