Gar Tootelian, Inc. (GAR) has won the top title in Ag business for its environmentally safe facility and community outreach efforts. Last night, GAR won the title as the top Ambassador of Respect for North America at a ceremony in Delaware. In May, the company was selected as the Western Regional winner.

The 2015 Environmental Respect Award is sponsored by DuPont Crop Protection and CropLife® magazine. Since 1990, the recognition has been the industry’s premier award honoring stewardship, safety and philanthropy efforts of the world’s leading agricultural retailers and distributors.
Established in 1949, GAR’s ownership is 100% female and is a leading philanthropic leader in the Central Valley. GAR works to promote education and awareness on the importance of valley agriculture with the Fresno Grizzlies’ Farm Grown Program, the Valley Farm at the Fresno Chaffee Zoo and Valley PBS’ Valleys Gold and Education through Agriculture. Its partnership with Clovis Community Hospital raised $1.65 Million to expand emergency services dedicated to Central Valley Farmers and their Families. And, in 2014, GAR raised more than $70,000 in the Feeding Families Food Drive for the Community Food Bank.
GAR’s sensitivity to stewardship and safety includes a $7.5 million facility upgrade with a new 55,000 square foot warehouse, a 7,100 square foot office complex and a state-of-the-art liquid fertilizer and blending facility with one million gallons of storage capacity. The company provides water, nutrition, regulatory and crop care advice and products to more than 1,500 growers throughout the Central Valley.
