Building the Foundation for Agricultural Education

Anna highlighted a key initiative: establishing a 501(c)(3) foundation focused on education. While the Farm Bureau itself is a membership-based advocacy organization, the foundation channels efforts specifically into educational programs for youth, growers, farm workers, and consumers.

The foundation’s mission is to connect Californians to agriculture, fostering awareness and pride in the state’s diverse food production. With Stanislaus County currently the largest Farm Bureau by membership, Anna and her team ensure members see value in their participation while advocating for farmers and ranchers locally and statewide.

Stanislaus County: Heart of California Agriculture

Located north of Merced County and south of San Joaquin, Stanislaus County is about an hour and a half south of Sacramento and east of San Francisco. The county is renowned for its agricultural heritage, particularly dairy and almonds, which are the top commodities. Anna’s own family has a long history in dairy farming, connecting her personally to the county’s rich agricultural landscape.

Inspiring the Next Generation of Agricultural Leaders

Anna’s path into agriculture demonstrates that passion and dedication can lead to a rewarding career. Though she did not grow up on a farm, she pursued agricultural studies at Modesto Junior College and Chico State before establishing her career in Stanislaus County.

Her mission now focuses on helping the public appreciate the science and dedication involved in food production. Through the Farm Bureau’s educational programs, the foundation inspires youth, supports growers and their employees, and engages consumers to celebrate California’s agricultural bounty.

Hands-On Learning and Community Engagement

Recently, the foundation hosted 1,200 third graders at the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds for a hands-on agricultural learning experience. Activities included climbing tractors, interacting with animals, and exploring nutrition via the Healthy Plate Project. Plans are underway to expand this program across the county and integrate agriculture-themed books into the local library’s summer reading program in 2026.

Additionally, a collaboration with Modesto’s Vintage Faire Mall resulted in an agriculture-themed mural celebrating the county’s top commodities and the people behind them. The mural unveiling is scheduled for November 25th at 10 a.m., highlighting Stanislaus County’s agricultural community and encouraging local engagement.

Getting Involved with the Stanislaus County Farm Bureau

Anna invites residents and ag enthusiasts to get involved. Those in Stanislaus County can visit stanislauscountyfarmbureau.org to learn more or join. For those outside the county, the California Farm Bureau website provides access to all county Farm Bureaus statewide.

Currently, the Stanislaus County Farm Bureau is the largest in California, with nearly 20,000 members statewide. Every member matters, and Anna encourages participation as a way to support and advocate for agriculture.

Advocating for Farmers and Navigating Regulations

The Farm Bureau actively represents farmers on regulatory and policy issues. Anna emphasized that many farmers lack the time to address regulations while managing their operations, and the Bureau steps in to ensure their interests are protected.

A free educational webinar is scheduled for January 15th, 2026, covering regulatory changes, compliance, and safety guidance for agricultural employers. This webinar is open to everyone, highlighting the Bureau’s commitment to providing accessible and actionable information to the agricultural community.

Celebrating Agriculture with the Vintage Faire Mall Mural

The mural at Vintage Faire Mall celebrates local agriculture and honors the producers behind the county’s top commodities. The ribbon-cutting event on November 25th at 10 a.m. invites the community to witness this ag-friendly public art initiative. The mural raises awareness of local food production while highlighting the people who make it possible, strengthening the connection between residents and agriculture.

Connecting with Anna and the Farm Bureau Community

Anna encourages community engagement through events, educational programs, and membership in the Farm Bureau. Her dedication to advocacy, education, and community-building ensures that California agriculture continues to thrive and that future generations understand its importance.
