Compared to last week: Prices traded mostly steady to firm with instances of 5.00 higher in most areas. Demand remained very good in all regions on active trading activity. The supply of hay in California is very tight as regions 2 through 6 are in full production. Region 1 is still about 2-3 weeks away from first cutting. According to the U.S. drought monitor, all of California is now depicted as being in severe drought (D2) or worse this week, with the D3/D4 areas remaining unchanged.
