The California Farm Bureau Federation is hosting their 99th annual meeting in Garden Grove beginning Sunday, December 3 and running through Wednesday, December 6.
Paul Wenger will be giving his final address as President during the general session and expressed his excitement for the future of the organization. “We’re looking forward to having a lot of folks there as we welcome in the new leadership. Jamie Johansson should be taking over as the next president,” said Wenger. “He’s going to be a great leader for our organization, which will then hopefully help lead this industry.”
Some of the highlights of the upcoming meeting include the young farmer and rancher discussion meet, along with the industry trade show featuring many of the leading agricultural businesses from across the nation. The breakout sessions will also be covering a variety of subjects including agricultural research, rural crime and safety, and other important issues affecting the industry.
Leadership will not be the only thing changing for the California Farm Bureau Federation. “We’re entering into an agreement to sell our building so that we can build a newer building, a much more efficient building,” Wenger noted. Located roughly four hundred feet from the existing site, the new facility will be outfitted with the necessary technological updates needed for such an organization. “It was the right thing to do, we had somebody that wanted our building, so it was the right time to make that move, and we’re looking forward to that,” said Wenger.
