The California avocado industry is expecting a bumper harvest of 375 million pounds this year, up from 350 million last year, due to a decade-long commitment to planting new trees. This has resulted in an additional 3 million trees across 50,000 acres. Avocados rank third in gross revenue among fruit and nut crops in California, surpassed only by blackberries and strawberries.
