An appeal from a group of California raisin producers is headed to the Supreme Court. It’s the latest movement in the Horne V. US Department of Agriculture case, which stems from a federal marketing program that would take some of the California raisin crop off the market.
Growers in the Central Valley say it would unfairly keep them from selling their full crop. California produces nearly all the raisins in the nation, and 40 percent worldwide.
