International Avocado Trade Sees Volume and Pricing Swings in Week 25

During Week 25, the international avocado market saw significant changes in supply and pricing across key global regions, including the United States, Europe, and China.
In the U.S., avocado shipments rose 6% from the previous week and 18% year-over-year. Mexico remained the top supplier, followed by Peru, California, and Colombia. Prices have held steady for now, but rising inventories are beginning to create pressure as the market braces for holiday-driven demand surges tied to Father’s Day and Fourth of July celebrations.
In Europe, avocado container arrivals exceeded 1,000 units, with most of the volume sourced from Peru. Despite stable supply levels, pricing trends were mixed between Spain and northern European ports.
Meanwhile, in China, intermittent shipments from Peru disrupted the flow of supply. However, pricing remained relatively stable despite these fluctuations.
Peru continues to lead the European avocado supply chain. While exports slightly declined compared to the previous week, they remain well above last year’s levels, reaffirming Peru’s dominance in the international avocado market.
