The National Agricultural Statistics Service’s objective almond report for 2018 predicts a production increase of 7.9 percent primarily due to 70,000 more bearing acres this season. Almond Board of California President and CEO Richard Waycott said the big forecast was tempered by freezing temperatures, but it’s reassuring to have a record forecast for a season that had a treacherous bloom period.
