Almond Update: Raising Money for FFA Scholarships

Almond UpdateParticipants in the Almond Leadership Program are raising $20,000 for scholarships for FFA members. Rory Crowley, assistant operations manager for Nicolas Nut Company and participant in the Almond Leadership Program, discusses the fundraising effort in this week’s Almond Update.

He says raising the money for the scholarships brings back a bit of the past for many participants, as most were members of FFA or 4H when they were young. And he says supporting the FFA is important to the leadership program. The fund raising isn’t possible without help from others. Crowley says there are opportunities for everyone to help out.  Both the live and silent auction will take place at this year’s Almond Conference. Businesses or individuals who would like to donate items for the auction are urged to contact Jenny Nicolau at the Almond Board.
