As drought conditions continue, the decline in water quality gets exponentially worse for growers across the state with both soil moisture and aquifer water.
All-around Water Quality Declining
Cooperative Extension San Luis Obispo County Director Mary Bianchi says water quality is a major concern as the drought continues. Most growers don’t have the luxury of proper leaching programs and Bianchi says they’re also seeing a quality decline in the water growers are pumping up to the surface.
