Everett Griner talks about how unreliable imported organics really are in today’s Agri View.
Organic farming has become a well known phrase in today’s world. From it’s start a little more than a decade ago, it has grown continuously with more producers and more consumers. Now, we are learning that there are products being sold, as organic, that are not real.
Now, before you get upset, it is mostly imported food products that do not meet the requirements of American grown organics. Even if you have been fooled, Congress has been working on a bill that would stop the import of these fake products. It isn’t a law yet. But, it is expected to be passed before this current session is over.
Now, in the meantime, there is a way you can be satisfied that your organic food products are real. Ask if what you are buying is imported. If it is, leave it alone.
