Everett Griner talks about healthy eating, something few Americans properly do, in today’s Agri View.
OK, how much fruit and vegetables do you eat eat each day? Not enough?
Well, the Center for Disease Control recently did a very new study. Based on what they found out the vast majority of Americans fall way short of the recommended level of fruit and vegetables. I’m not surprised.
A proper nutritional balance calls for 1 1/2 to 2 cups of fruit and 2 to 3 cups of vegetables every day. Their study showed about 9 percent of our population reaches that recommended level.
Since fruit and vegetables are not a big choice at breakfast, that only leaves 2 meals to meet CDC’s recommended level. Five cups of anything seems like a lot of food for 2 meals. But, we are thinking about your health here. So, even if you don’t meet the requirements, you can’t argue with the logic.
It is something to consider anyway.
That’s Agri View for today. I’m Everett Griner…
