Everett Griner talks about how beef exports to China are improving in today’s Agri View.
Beef Exports to China
Well, all importers and exporters know that China is a major trading partner of the United States. China is a major buyer of a lot of American farm products. But, well, American beef is not one of them. The problem goes all the way back to that mad cow incident several years ago. China placed a total ban on all of the American beef. Well, they lifted that ban last September. The exports have not reached the levels that were expected. China consumes almost 15 percent of all beef consumed in the whole world. Imports from several countries. Argentina, Australia, and everywhere else. The U.S. share, which is important to all of the agriculture, has not met expectations. Having an impact on all U.S. production. But, the good news is, it is getting better.
That’s Agri View for today. I’m Everett Griner…
