At the Outlook 2013 Conference in Sacramento, wine grape growers and winemakers got words of advice from Jean Arnold, President of the Jean Arnold Group.
Arnold warned new winemakers not to jump into the industry without a solid plan in place. She said a five to ten year plan is an essential first step. She also advised new and existing winemakers to plan and invest in a “sophisticated and professional marketing plan”, that looks at the long term rather than two or three years into the future. Arnold told the group when it comes to success, “if you do it right and have patience, it will come.”
