The Western Agricultural Processors Association and the American Pistachio Growers will host a Tree Nut Theft Training Seminar on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at the DoubleTree Hotel in Modesto.

The seminar will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at 4 p.m. with lunch included. Both Associations hosted the Nut Theft Summit in December 2015 to alert the California tree nut industry of a sophisticated crime ring targeting tree nut processing facilities to then conduct fictitious pickups and steal cargo.

Over the past six months it is estimated that over 30 loads have been stolen. This event will offer further insight to the nut theft issue, training on best practices to avoid theft and perspectives from both a law enforcement and legal perspective. Upon completion of the seminar, attendees will be awarded with a course completion certificate.

Registration is required for all attendees. The cost of registration for WAPA and APG members is FREE, for non-members it is $45/person.

Registration forms can be returned to the office via email to info@agprocessors.org, faxed to (559) 251-4471 or mailed to 1785 N. Fine Ave. Fresno, CA 93727. Payment options for registration include mailing in a check or paying online (fees apply) at www.agprocessors.org/events.
