CDFA Now Accepting Proposals for the 2015 Specialty Crop Multi-State Program

The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) will act as a participating state for the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service’s (AMS) Specialty Crop Multi-State Program.

The SCMP is a new federal grant program offered by USDA AMS that will award approximately $3 million to projects that solely enhance the competitiveness of specialty crops through collaborative, multi-state projects. Proposals must include partners located in at least two different states and address regional or national-level specialty crop issues, including food safety, plant pests and disease, research, crop-specific projects addressing common issues, and marketing and promotion.
