Gopher damage in northern California is higher this year and advisors say irrigation trends may be the cause.
Cooperative Extension Farm Advisor Franz Niederholzer says some northern California plum producers are seeing high gopher damage this year. He says a change is irrigation efficiency has done away with some anti-gopher practices. Niederholzer says growers will need to stay on top of management on a yearly basis.
