Continuing our series on Tamarixia used in the fight against Asian citrus psyllids, AgNet West’s Taylor Hillman has the efficiency researchers are looking for when the insect is used as biological control.
Aside from feeding on psyllids, Tamarixia is such a small insect that it lays eggs in the psyllid which kills the host when hatched. CDFA Environmental Program Manager David Morgan says they have a realistic percentage of what this insect can do.
