Another recent HLB detection has expanded the quarantine zone, triggering a grower meeting to be hosted next week. Growers and industry members in San Bernardino and Riverside Counties are being invited to a grower meeting on Monday, February 3.
Recent detections of HLB-positive trees in Colton have prompted an expansion of the HLB quarantine zone to include areas of Redlands and Loma Linda. The quarantine prohibits the movement of all citrus nursery stock or plant parts out of the quarantine area, with provisions to allow the transportation of commercially cleaned and packed citrus fruit.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. at the Redlands City Hall Council Chambers. Attendees will be provided with an overview of the quarantine and will be able to ask questions on the mandatory regulatory protocols required by the California Department of Food and Agriculture in response to an HLB detection. The meeting will also provide compliance and mitigation information for growers, packers, and haulers.
