Researchers at many universities are working on a citrus greening cure, but among the most aggressive and unusual experiments are those being conducted at Texas A&M University and Southern Gardens Citrus by Dr. Erik Mirkov.
He alters the DNA of an orange by adding a gene found in spinach. The gene appears to be resistant to the greening bacteria.
