Today, USDA is announcing that a hearing will be held on establishing a federal milk marketing order for the state of California.
The initial proposal was submitted by a group of dairy farmer cooperatives including California Dairies, Dairy Farmers of America and Land O’ Lakes. Additional proposals were submitted by the Dairy Institute of California, California Producer Handler Association and Ponderosa Dairy.
The hearing will begin on Tuesday, September 22, 2015, at 9:00 a.m. The hearing is expected to last several weeks.
The hearing will be held at the Clovis Veterans Memorial District Building, 808 Fourth Street, Clovis, California 93612. Federal milk order hearings are open to the public.
