The National Association of Farm Broadcasters was in California last week to see firsthand how some operations work out on the west coast.

Golden State Experience for NAFB

AgNet West was able to put together a tour for NAFB President Janet Atkinson and a group of board members in Monterey County. The tour allowed the members to see local crops like artichokes, pick organic strawberries fresh from the field, taste organic wine and see how important California FFA is to our ag industry and communities. Atkinson, as well as some of the board members, is from the Midwest and getting the opportunity to speak with an expert in the field, about a crop predominately grown on the west coast is an experience to remember. Atkinson added that the agriculture industry is a big one, and she is amazed at how well its members support one another even when they are hundreds of miles apart.
