Foods Rich in Magnesium Important to Your Health

Magnesium plays a crucial role in keeping your heart, muscles, and bones healthy and strong! It’s one of the body’s most important electrolytes and has been proven to help with insomnia, depression, migraines, and more. If you’re not eating these magnesium-rich foods already, add them to your next grocery list.

Fortunately there are plenty of delicious foods you can add to your diet that will give you all the magnesium you need. Such as oats, really any variety will do.  Your best bet is to choose the least processed and gluten-free.

Dark Leafy veggies, like Spinach, kale, collard greens, turnip greens and mustard green have significant amounts of magnesium. The fresher the leaves the better the nutrients.

Consider Pumpkin Seeds, Cashews and flax seeds at snack time instead of sugary snacks. But if you still need that sweet fix, reach for Dark chocolate. A one ounce serving has some magnesium-rich benefits. And it won’t hurt your waistline.

Two great ingredients for taco night also give you a nice magnesium boost:  avocados and black beans.

Peanut Butter and Brazil nuts also make the list.

Remember that Magnesium is an important mineral for your body and your brain that you may not be getting enough of.
