Today is Ag Day at the Capital when thousands of school age kids and others from communities around the state visit boots and exhibits set up on the steps of the state capital building. They showcase California agriculture. This year some of the attendees have another focus as well. As many as thirty charter busses from around the state dropped off thousands of Future Farmers of America, or FFA, members who now face the loss of half their programs funding due to Governor Jerry Brown removing the Agriculture Education Incentive Grant from the state budget. California Seed Association Executive Vice President Chris Zanobini says “agriculture education and FFA are extremely important programs”.  Zanobini recently spoke with Agnet West discussing this.
