Food Animal Concerns Trust (FACT) is now accepting applications for three different types of grants that are available for livestock and poultry farmers.  FACT awards competitive grants to independent family farmers throughout the U.S. who raise beef cattle, broiler chickens, dairy cows, laying hens, and other livestock.  This year there will be three types of FACT’s 2019 Fund-a-Farmer Grants.

The certification grant is available for projects designed to meet a standard for Certified Animal Welfare Approved, Certified Humane or GAP Animal Welfare Certified.  The capacity grant provides funding to enhance a farm’s capacity or marketing capabilities for products already certified for animal welfare.  The pasture grant supports the transition to a pasture-based system, improving pasture conditions, or increasing livestock access to pastureland.  The application form can be completed online and will need to be submitted by December 2.
