Cooperative Extension Farm Advisor Dani Lightle says a new phase of band canker is raising concern is Northern California. Lightle says there is little growers can do once cankers are present, except to keep excess water from irrigation off the trees. Lightle says rains could potentially impact water-spread management, but in California it isn’t much of a concern.
