The bilateral trade war with China while still there, seems to be simmering down. Last week, China purchased 300,000 tons of U.S. soybeans and recently agreed to do away with the tariffs imposed on cars and corn. The two nations have also agreed to attempt to resolve the trade disputes over the next 90 days. On Friday, however, the Trump administration issued a statement noting the tariffs would increase on March 2, if a compromise could not be made. The 10 percent tariffs currently placed on $200 million worth of Chinese goods would then jump to 26 percent.
