BASF recently made some more moves in the market place, selling off two different properties to competitors.  BASF sold their Trunemco nematode management seed treatment to Nufarm.  Corteva Agriscience, the new agriculture division of DowDuPont, purchased the Clearfield canola production system from BASF in the U.S. and Canada.

Officials from Nufarm indicated that Trunemco will be commercialized in several important global markets, with expectations of being launched this year in the U.S., pending EPA registration.  In addition to nematode protection, in corn, cotton and soybeans, the seed treatment contains a microbial that boosts root health and seedling vigor.

Corteva had previously licensed the Clearfield canola trait in Pioneer and Brevant seed brands and will now be expanding Clearfield’s position to include out-licensing to other seed companies in the U.S. and Canada.

“This transaction supports Corteva Agriscience in supplying genetics for one of the most consumed vegetable oils globally, together with the heart-healthy Omega-9 oil segment, which reflects our continued focus on addressing consumer and farmer needs through differentiated offerings,” Executive Vice President for Business Platforms at Corteva Agriscience Rajan Gajaria said in a news release.
