Everett Griner talks about farm water use in today’s Agri View. Everett ask some serious questions and enlightens us about what would happen if farmers had no water.
Water, water, water. How frequently and how much do you use? Think about it now.
Personal use. Watering our lawns. Many kinds of recreational use. How much would your life change if you were limited in how much water you use? It is something that you don’t think about much do you? Unless you are a farmer. It is something every farmer thinks about all of the time.
Without water there would not be any farming. Agriculture is the world’s largest user of water. One source says as much as 70 percent. It causes a lot of people to complain. Farmers uses to much water. Think about what would happen if farmers stopped using it. There would be a lot of empty stomachs. If the population grows, so does the need for water. Especially on the farm.
Will it ever change? The need won’t. Not without a hungry world.
