Deanna van Klaveren was honored with the 2016 Profiles in Leadership Award by the California Agricultural Leadership Foundation (CALF) and the Ag Leadership Alumni Council. The award was presented at a recent ceremony at the Clovis Veterans Memorial District.

The Profiles in Leadership Award recognizes alumni of the California Agricultural Leadership Program for their leadership actions resulting in the betterment of industry, community, business, government, education and/or the environment.

Van Klaveren, of Modesto, is the co-owner of Generation Growers, Inc. and a Class 32 graduate of the Ag Leadership Program. She has been deeply involved with the foundation, program and Alumni Council since 2005. She has also served in leadership positions for agricultural organizations and school and youth groups.

“Deanna is the ultimate example of a servant leader,” said CALF President Barry Bedwell. “She is an exceptional team player and an actively engaged volunteer. She has worked tirelessly for the benefit of Ag Leadership and she has made many positive contributions to ag industry and local endeavors. We are proud to honor her with this award.”

CALF operates the Ag Leadership Program, which is considered to be one of the premier leadership development experiences in the United States. Since it was first delivered in 1970, more than 1,300 men and women have participated in the program and have become influential leaders and active volunteers in agriculture, government, communities, business and education.
